# Confirming a Return

When an order can't be delivered and needs to be returned, follow these steps to confirm the return and notify the customer.

#### Log in to the Rendr Dashboard

Access your Rendr Dashboard using your credentials.

#### Navigate to the order

Locate the specific order that couldn't be delivered and click on it to view its details. You'll see a **Confirm Return** button.

#### Confirm the return

Select **Confirm Return** to initiate the return confirmation process. A popup will appear.

#### Select the returned items status

In the **Returned Items** dropdown, choose the appropriate status:

* **All order items were returned** – The entire order was returned
* **Only partial items were returned** – Only part of the order was returned
* **Items were not returned** – None of the items were returned

This creates an escalation with Rendr's Delivery Experience team, who will investigate the whereabouts of the order.

#### Notify the customer

Under **Send notification**, choose how to notify the customer:

* **Email** – Sends an email notification
* **SMS** – Sends a text message notification

You can select one or both methods.

#### Confirm the action

Once all information is filled in, select **Confirm Return**. The order will be marked as returned, and the customer will be notified according to your selected preferences.
